June/July Photo Diary

For this "Double Post Weekend," I thought it would be fun to do a Photo Diary!  I think this is such a fun way to capture all the adventures that you go on during the past few months!  Below is my life in photos from the last week of June through July!

I am obsessed with Titanic!  I love learning as much as I can about everything on this subject (I even have a book review coming up on a historical fiction novel about Titanic!).  During the last few days of June, my mom and I headed to a nearby exhibition on Titanic.  In this one, you received cards at the beginning of the exhibit and found out whether you survived by the end!  This is the second Titanic exhibit we have been to, and we both have lived each time!  We probably shouldn't push our luck a third time...

Me and my brother bought my mom hanging flower pots for our backyard back in May for Mother's Day.  However at the end of June, we discovered 4 Robin eggs in one of the baskets!  It was so fun watching them grow over the course of a couple of weeks!

Bath & Body Works haul ... so I was in the mall for an entirely different reason, and then I came across the Bath & Body Works semi-annual sale sign!  I wanted to stop in quickly and did not plan on buying anything.  This is what happens when I don't plan on buying anything. :/  I ended up getting a 2-pack of wallflowers scents in "Homemade Cookies" (which I thought would be perfect for the fall), 1 body sugar scrub in the scent "Sweet Pea" (my absolute favorite!), 3 body sprays (I much prefer these to perfume), and 2 body butters (these are SO moisturizing and the smell lingers even into the next day)!

Quick Outfit: My lace cut-out light blue top is from Maurice's, and I just have a plain white tank underneath.  My nails are OPI Cajun Shrimp (which I think is the perfect summer red since it has a hint of orange in it).  I wore this outfit for 4th of July since there is a little red, white, and blue!

YAY 4TH OF JULY!  I really enjoy this holiday, I think because it means that summer is in full swing!  For the occasion, I decided to make fun 4th of July layered drinks!  I saw this recipe on the internet (somewhere...), and I thought they looked so cute!  Basically, you just pour your different colored drinks over ice, pouring the one with the most sugar content first (on the bottom)!  I layered red, white, and then blue; however, the white and blue (although they did have different sugar contents) mixed a bit because the sugar content was too close to one another.  I still think they turned out really cute though and were quite refreshing!

Another quick work outfit: My coral lace top (which I just wore a white tank top underneath) is from Kohl's, and my white shrug is from Love Culture. My necklaces are both from Forever 21.

After work, this is what I threw on for a casual outfit to go run some errands.  My gray and purple ombre striped top is from Kohl's, and in the summertime, I love doing braids in my hair!

Pinterest project!  LOL.  I love Pinterest!  It is so much fun to scroll through page after page whenever you are bored.  One day, I saw a paint sample calendar that was so cute and inexpensive!  All you do is pick up some free paint sample chips from a local home store (I also cornered mine), paste them to a poster board, and frame it!  Then you can write on your calendar with white board markers!

Yummy pasta salad!  I think this may be one of my all-time favorite summer recipes!  It is so simple and delicious too!  All you do is cook your tri-colored pasta according to package directions, and toss it with sliced pepperoni, cheese crumbles, sliced black olives, and halved baby tomatoes!  Drizzle Italian dressing over it all, mix, and chill for a few hours before serving!  You can easily substitute anything that you love and want to include in this recipe!

I think this may be one of my favorite work outfits!  The sleeveless floral-printed dress and coral jacket are from H&M.  My coral sandals are from Old Navy.  My nail polish is Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in #430 "Rosy Outlook."

I love this tank top on hot summer days!  Lately, it has been about 90 degrees all week long!  This palm tree tank top from Delia's is light and comfortable to sit on the deck and soak up the sun!

The only reason I tried this new lip product is because I had a coupon; I am really trying to use up some of my makeup products before buying new.  But I am so glad I decided to try this out!  This is Almay's Liquid Lip Balm in "Blooming," and it is AMAZING!  It is so moisturizing, not sticky, and not heavy on your lips, as it adds a hint of color.  I definitely want to go back and buy some other colors!

My next quick outfit:  My black and white patterned tank top is from Maurice's (the back of the tank top is a sheer - but not see through - black fabric).  I paired it with black capris, also from Maurice's, and my comfy black flats that I have had forever (I think I got them at Kohl's)!  My nails are Butter London in "Slapper"(this is the first time I have used Butter London, and so far I am loving it!).

I hope you enjoyed this photo diary!
