Kindle Unboxing

Alright.  So here it is.  I bought a Kindle.  And, surprising, I LOVE IT!  I had done a lot of research over the past few months, trying to decide if I wanted a Kindle in the first place, which model I wanted, with Special Offers or without, etc.  Then, all the sudden, I received an email that said all Kindles were $20 off!  I felt like if I wanted a Kindle this would be the best opportunity to get one.  So, after much deliberation, I went ahead and placed the order on the Kindle Paperwhite without the Special Orders (which are basically just ads that show up on your device)!

First View - I was surprised at how small and thin this device actually was!

Power Cord Underneath - It does not come with a power adaptor, however, I just use the one that came with my iPhone, which works perfectly!

My little Kindle first turning on and loading … so exciting!

I don't really know why, but I love the sleep mode screensaver!  Plus, it changes each time you put the Kindle to sleep!

My new Kindle all bundled up in its cover, which I am obsessed with!  It has a magnetic closure that, first of all, does not damage the device, and second of all, automatically turns on and off when you open and close the cover!  How cool is that?!

Overall, I am very please with my Kindle, and I am definitely glad that I made the decision to get it!  I think it will be perfect to take around campus with me or even on vacation!  I have been reading several books on it (some from NetGalley, which they sync up together very easily), and it is so easy to read on.  Also, I really like the Goodreads integration on the Kindle, which is so handy!  I felt like I was really going to miss my physical copies of books to read from (and I do still plan to buy some physical copies of books), but I am loving the convenience so much that I really am enjoying the Kindle!

Do you have a Kindle or another e-reader?  Were you hesitant at first to give up some physical copies of books?  I also signed up for the Teen & Young Adult e-mail newsletter through Amazon and received a free promotional credit to purchase a select book!  Pretty cool!
