The Fault in Our Stars: A Book Review

I know, I know, I know.  It has taken me forever to finally get around to reading this book!  Obviously everyone knows about this book, and I am probably the last one to read this amazing novel.  But, like everyone else, I LOVED this book!  I thought it was written beautifully with great dialogue and amazing characters!

Review:
Goodreads Summary:

Despite the tumor-shrinking medical miracle that has bought her a few years, Hazel has never been anything but terminal, her final chapter inscribed upon diagnosis. But when a gorgeous plot twist named Augustus Waters suddenly appears at Cancer Kid Support Group, Hazel's story is about to be completely rewritten.

Characters:

I have a crush on Augustus Waters.  Yep, that has happened.  I definitely think he is an amazing character with a great personality.  I love his dialogue with Hazel!  He was such a fun character to read about, making me laugh out loud at times.  Hazel was another amazing character; her carefree attitude at times made her enjoyable to read.  Her dialogue was realistic and interesting.  Loved both of them!

Plot:

So everyone knows about the plot – girl with cancer meets boy at a cancer support group.  Definitely doesn’t do the novel justice but that is the main point.  I thought that this novel was interesting and fairly unique.  Although cancer love stories have been done several times over, I thought this one had a very unique spin to it with a fictional book that plays a very major role in the growth and development of the young characters.

Writing Style:

The writing style was great!  This is my first John Green novel, and I very much enjoyed it!  I loved the dialogue and the realism throughout the novel.  I thought it really made the characters come to life.  I would be interested in checking out more of John Green’s novels.

I’m sure you have read this book, but what did you think?  Any other John Green books you have read and would recommend?
