The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald
Obviously, the movie came out recently, earlier in the summer, so I wanted to pick up the book to read. Now I ordered this book online and there wasn't enough time to read the book before the movie left theaters, so I ended up watching the movie before reading the book, which I try to avoid. However, I loved both of these! I loved the book more that the movie (just because that's what I prefer), but I really did enjoy the movie too. My only issue with the movie is I feel like those watching who didn't read the book, may not understand the underlying themes. Overall, I really enjoyed reading the book, and a book and movie review will be up shortly!
Beauty Queens by Libba Bray
I have heard so many people talk about how great this book is and how perfect it is for the summertime! So I decided to pick it up and give it a go! I can't wait to read this book ... beauty queens stranded sounds like it could be a lot of fun and very interesting! (AND BONUS: it's one of the books that was pulled out of my book jar!)
Grave Mercy by Robin LaFevers
The last book in this haul I don't know too much about aside from the fact that I really want to read this! I kept putting it in my online shopping cart and kept picking it up at the bookstore, but I was nervous to get into another trilogy as I was kinda getting sick of them for a while. However, this book sounds so interesting. I believe it is about nuns who are trained to murder? I could be wrong about that, but it does sound really good!
Have you read any of these books? What did you think of them? I think I got a pretty good variety of books in this haul ... a classic, a beachy read, and a young adult novel.
