Since it is SO incredibly snowy
outside right now and all I want to do is cuddle up under a blanket and read and
watch Christmas movies, I thought the Winter Wonderland Book Tag would be
perfect this week! Many of my
favorite BookTubers have done this tag, and it sounds so cute!
1. What book is so happy and sweet
that it warms your heart?
This was probably one of my favorite
books that I read over the summer, and I really enjoyed it! I thought that the characters were
funny and interesting to read about.
It definitely reminded me of Sex
and the City, but in book form.
Really cute, fun, light read.
(I have already picked up the sequel!)
2. What is your favorite book with a
white cover?
So this one was a little difficult,
as I don’t have many books with a white cover; however, this cover is mostly
white, and I really enjoyed the book (I read it in ONE sitting!).
So far, I have loved everything by Jennifer Echols, and this book is no
exception! It is a fun,
well-written new adult book, and I can’t wait to check out more books by her!
3. You're sitting in a nice comfy
chair, wearing a onesie, with a lovely warm hot chocolate but what MONSTER read
are you reading?
Inspired by PriceisWong, who
is rereading the Harry Potter series and posting book discussion videos, I
thought it would be fun to reread them as well, re-watch the movies, and listen
to her thoughts on the books.
Well, I am currently on this monster read: Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. I haven’t started it yet, but now that
my semester is done, I hope to read it over Christmas break!
4. It started snowing so you decided to
have a snowball fight! What fictional character would you love to have the
snowball fight with?
Harry Potter!
Ok … so many answers popped into my
head: Peeta from The Hunger Games, John from Going Too Far, Angela from I Heart New York …
But I ended up choosing Harry
Potter! I mean come on … can you
imagine having a snowball fight with Harry Potter?! It would be filled with magic!! And can you imagine the location of this snowball fight … on
the grounds of Hogwarts!! And maybe Harry Potter would bring Ron and Hermione,
and it would be an amazing time! I
think I’m getting a little carried away …
5. Sadly, your fire is beginning to
go out. So what book would you tear the last few chapters out to throw into the
fire?
I would definitely throw the last few
chapters of this book into the fireplace (maybe the whole thing??). I wasn’t crazy about the first book in
this little companion series to begin with, and I definitely found this second
book hard to believe and annoying at times. A new character was introduced, who was demanding and seemed
extremely unrealistic in what he wanted, and the fact that Ginny accepted these
demands was a whole other issue I had.
The ending was definitely unexpected, but in an anticlimactic way. Thought I would love these books and
all the travel, but not a huge fan.
6. What book is so close to your
heart that you would gift to someone this Christmas who hasn't read before but
wants to get into reading?
I think this is my favorite book! The love I have for this book is
unreal. First of all, I LOVE
historical fiction, and Philippa Gregory is just the best. Although I think it takes a special
kind of person to enjoy her novels (and historical fiction in general), I think
the drama, suspense, and romance would keep anyone interested! I also really loved the show!
Have you read any of these books? What is your answer to these questions?
